Community Support Services


The Community Support Services help Seniors and people with physical disabilities remain in their own homes longer. 

We help seniors,  people with disabilities, people recovering from illness or surgery, and caregivers of any age.


Transportation

For seniors and/or persons with physical disabilities…Volunteer drivers will take clients to medical appointments, shopping and various social activities within the local areas and to urban centres. A flat rate fee applies.

Adult Drop In

Come join us at the Northbrook Lions Hall or the Flinton Hall from 11-2 for a hot nutritious and delicious meal and activities such as guest musicians, card games, visiting with old friends and meeting new, also the occasional guest speaker. Follow us on Facebook for schedules for our Diners Programs. Volunteers are needed to plan; prepare and serve meals. (Small fee for service)

Diner’s Club (Denbigh)

We welcome you to join us at the Denbigh Community Centre for Denbigh Diners where meals are prepared by volunteers. It is also a great opportunity for a social outing. (Small fee for service)

Homemaking/Home Maintenance

This support can include tasks such as laundry, vacuuming, meal preparation, light cleaning, lawn care, gardening, snow shovelling on an ongoing basis or a one time job. This program is also great for anyone needing short term help with household chores after surgery or hospital stay. (The client is responsible for any materials or supplies that are required). (Small fee for service)

Meals on Wheels

A 3 course meal includes salad or soup, entrée, and dessert!  ​The meals are delivered by volunteer drivers who provide a social contact and check on the health and safety of the client.  ​Delivered to homes in the Cloyne, Northbrook, Flinton, Kaladar, Harlowe and Denbigh areas.  Available to seniors or to anyone returning home from hospital that could use a hot meal.  For weekly delivery, or on a call in basis. (Small fee for service)

Foot Care

A foot care clinic that is provided by a registered nurse with specialized training in foot care. Healthy feet are essential to continued mobility, independence and to reduce any risk of further serious complications. This service is offered to individuals that are 60 and over, diabetic or anyone who has trouble bending and/or can not reach or see their feet.
Our foot care specialist has the proper foot care tools on-hand to do the job of caring for your feet as well as practicing a high level of hygiene. All instruments are sterilized using provincially mandated guidelines.
